Description

HeartCode BLS is the AHA’s blended learning delivery method for the BLS Course. HeartCode blended learning delivers quality resuscitation education regardless of where providers are located and gives them more control to complete the course at their own pace. Providers first complete the online portion of HeartCode BLS and then complete a hands-on skills session with an AHA BLS Instructor or on a simulation station.

Access to the BLS Provider Manual eBook (20-3102) is included with HeartCode BLS. You will be able to access the Provider Manual from within the course.

This product has been updated with new science from the 2020 Guidelines for CPR and ECC and replaces the previous version (15-3254).

How does the 2020 Guidelines version of HeartCode differ from the 2015 Guidelines version of HeartCode?

The 2020 Guidelines HeartCode uses a personalized adaptive algorithm that sets students on the most efficient path to mastery. Students follow a continuously adapting learning path that is personalized by their own inputs: their performance, and their self- reported confidence level related to each probing question. The course content is presented in the form of self-directed learning content, probing questions, and Cognitive Assessment Activities (CAAs).

The Mobility Specialist Transportation Course (MSTC) reflects a collaborative mission between X‑Transit Solutions and Halifax Education Group to elevate the skill set of non‑emergency medical transportation (NEMT) professionals. Designed for drivers, attendants and mobility technicians, the course begins with an online foundation (part 1) followed by a hands‑on workshop (part 2); both components must be completed for a two‑year certification. This structure ensures that participants can study at their own pace and then demonstrate competency in real‑world securement techniques. The program’s core objective is to promote passenger safety and comfort while aligning with industry’s best practices.

Course content draws heavily on solutions emphasis on teaching, not just how to perform tasks but WHY they matter. The curriculum introduces learners to different types of wheelchairs and mobility equipment, how to operate vehicles and equipment safely, and recommended procedures for securing wheelchairs and scooters. Additional modules cover defensive and distracted driving, and pre‑ and post‑trip inspections. Each segment includes assessments designed to reinforce understanding and build confidence before students’ progress to in‑person practice.

Halifax’s commitment to regulatory alignment ensures that the MSTC meets Medicare, Medicaid and Department of Transportation expectations. Lessons address Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements and person‑first communication, while also emphasizing fraud, waste and abuse prevention and proper documentation. Combining these elements with positions graduates to serve higher‑level NEMT services, from ambulatory to wheelchair and stretcher transportation.

By blending X‑Transit Solutions’ practical focus with Halifax’s educational expertise, the MSTC – Mobility Specialist Transport Course offers a direct, professional pathway for students seeking industry‑recognized credentials. Graduates gain not only technical skills but also a deep understanding of WHY meticulous securement, respectful communication and regulatory compliance are essential to passenger well‑being and operational success. In doing so, the program helps raise industry standards and prepares participants to be leaders in the evolving NEMT landscape.

The Stretcher Specialist Transportation Course (SSTC) combines the practical rigor of Halifax Education Group’s stretcher‑operations curriculum with X‑Transit Solutions’ focus on understanding not just how to perform a task but WHY it matters. Halifax’s program is delivered in two parts: a self‑paced online module followed by a hands‑on workshop as a certified training site. The classroom portion introduces the fundamentals of stretcher operations, while the practical session allows students to demonstrate competence under the guidance of experienced instructors. This dual structure reflects X‑Transit Solutions’ philosophy that effective training requires both knowledge and applied skill, and it mirrors the company’s recommendation that driver’s complete ( Part 2 ) hands‑on instruction after the classroom portion of specialty courses like Stretcher Operator Specialist (SOS)

Course content is comprehensive and aligns with industry expectations. Participants learn stretcher familiarization—covering different types of stretchers and their components—and practice patient assessment techniques to determine the most suitable transfer and transport methods. Emphasis is placed on body mechanics and ergonomics to reduce injuries while lifting, transferring and positioning patients. Students also master securement techniques, including the proper use of straps and restraints, and they develop communication team skills for working with patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals. Emergency preparedness covers responding to distress signals and implementing evacuation procedures, while infection‑control practices teach cleaning and disinfecting equipment to prevent pathogen transmission. Documentation training ensures accurate recording of patient information and incidents, and modules on regulatory compliance, cultural sensitivity, teamwork and ethics highlight the broader responsibilities of stretcher operators.

SSTC equips students with a holistic view of stretcher operations within the context of overall NEMT service delivery. The hands‑on workshop reinforces these lessons and instill confidence in real‑world applications, fulfilling industry recommendations that specialty‑course participants undergo practical training.

Professionals who complete the SSTC emerge with a credential that demonstrates both technical proficiency and an understanding of the ethical, regulatory and human‑centered aspects of stretcher transport. The course prepares them to meet the expectations of Medicare, Medicaid and other payers by emphasizing documentation accuracy, fraud‑prevention awareness and adherence to ADA and HIPAA standards. For students seeking a direct, professional pathway into higher‑level NEMT services—and for industry stakeholders looking for evidence of rigorous, hands‑on training—the SSTC represents a comprehensive blend of Halifax Education Group’s educational excellence and our mission‑driven approach to driver development.
